The History:

The land was originally part of a farm known as Carter Hill that was acquired by Burwell Boykin around 1819. Burwell came to own most of the land north and south of Swift Creek.  The Boykin name is a very prominent name in the Camden community with historic ties dating  back to the 1700's.   The township of Boykin, SC was named after the  Boykin’s who settled in the area.  One of Burwell Boykin’s descendants, Lemuel Whitaker (“Whit”) Boykin was an avid sportsman in the early 1900's and is credited for his role in breeding the SC State dog, the Boykin Spaniel!   Rigdon (a direct descendant of Burwell Boykin and Lemuel Whitaker Boykin) and Patricia are the current owners of this luxurious retreat and are ready for the new owners to write the next chapter of its history books.

Option #1

242 Acres along Swift Creek

Offered for $1,990,000

242 acres of prime land with duck ponds, fishing pond, fields and frontage along Swift Creek. (More land is available to purchase as well as Barn/Event venue and outbuildings) Located just 7 miles outside Historic Camden. This  property has been meticulously maintained, and managed for a decade, with sportsman in mind.  The Boykins are not fans of controlled burning, so this land is only bushhogged, and any fallen trees are removed and the stump ground down.  Perfect for hunting, gaming, horses,  or a private retreat.  Fabulous duck pond in the center of the property, with culvert in place if you want to drain the pond during other seasons.  Also a  2 acre pond, loaded with bass, tucked at the back of the property.   Several food plots and fields, already  prepped with ditches to maintain water run off.  Abundance of wildlife including quail, ducks,  turkey, fox squirrels and trophy buck. It is rare to find rolling hills like this in the Midlands. Scenic elevation changes & excellent building locations. Great combination of hardwoods, pines and fields. The main road and trails are already cut in and still maintained. This land is almost completely surrounded by either protected wetlands or conservation easements.  The property line on the North side is more than 7000 feet of frontage along Swift Creek.  This is a rare opportunity to own your own estate in  one of Camden's most exclusive areas.
